Gore Watch

I was saddened this morning to read this piece of news. Al Gore's son, Al Gore III, was arrested for drug posession in California. The younger Gore was speeding in his hybrid Toyota Prius (natch!) and the Orange County policeman who pulled him over smelled marijuana. A subsequent search revealed a small amount of marijuana and various prescription drugs for which Gore did not have a prescription.

The elder Al said his son is now undergoing treatment. He also reiterated that he has no intention of entering the presidential race saying, "I don't expect to be a candidate again ever."

Bummer.

Gore is currently knee-deep in helping to orchestrate the Live Earth concert which will take place July 7, '07 on seven separate continents in the hope of triggering a global movement to take steps to halt climate change.
