Sad But True

I should have believed it the first time I heard it, but I simply couldn't bear it.
The truth is that our local World Market is closing. According to the people at the cash register that I grilled yesterday while purchasing the above pictured yummy French Soap (on clearance!), the reason for the decision is NOT based on a lack of profits. Yes, you read that right.

Apparently, there are reasons for the decision to close other than the economic kind.

I don't get it.

Bummer. I like that store. Hardly ever went there because it seems out of the way, but still, I'll miss it.

So is everything on clearance? Wine and beer too???

Okay, maybe not lack of profits at our store, but believe me, lack of profits across the board and this little store probably wasn't one of their heavy hitters, sadly. Just read the Wall Street Journal, big layoffs in the retail sector. It's hunker down time for some stores that over expanded and were built up by Wall Streets false positives. Sad, sad, sad. How are we gonna get all that cool food?

This is a travesty! But more importantly, are they having a going out of business sale???
